I'm not going to go into great detail. All parts were sourced from a junk yard or autoparts supply. (disclaimer; I would NOT recommend others try this kind of instl. there are more soffisticated options for only a hundred or two more... this was just a general experiment and to get familiar with different options.Water delivery and pump is an entire Fuel Injection system from a 1983 maxima. A maxima fuel pump, pressure regulator, and cold start fuel injector (*key part*) were used. Stock Maxima Fuel pressure was used. EGTs were noticably lower... but the car was eventually shelved. (it worked great the entire time, but axle and tranny problems basically closed that car down for good)...

notice that the spray pattern is off to the right... It's hard to see... but it worked very well. David was looking for a higher flowing cold start injector until the tranny gave out...
"Long story short my boost guage was off i think a couple psi and then the bulb went out on it that night. So I used a flashlight to read what my boost was. Looked like 19 pounds, but I guess I was wrong. Then to top it off, I was bouncing off the rev limiter and powershifted to third. And then the big boom. To my amazement, the next morning it acutlly started!!!! then I shut it off a couple secs later it was killing me to hear what it sounded like." - Posted by: hot90tt(underconstruction) on January 19, 2004 at 11:15 AM |
